# Menu lInks fail when setting named area

I have a 5 column grid with several rows. The top row contains the menu and menu items, which I style and link without a problem.

The second row contains the hero image which spans all columns. No problem so far.

Now when I set a named area (hero), so that the hero image can start at the top of the page and sit behind the menu and its items, the links and css styles for the menu and its items fail?

Makes no sense to me?

this tutorial i think touches on the placement of images behind objects… if you haven’t already gone thru these, this series on grid was helpful to me.

are you trying to do this with a background image or and image element?

Thank you. I appreciate it. This looks like an amazing software. It is taking a little time to get my head around some of its logic. Hope to reach competence soon.
