Theme: Twenty Twenty-ThreeVersion: 1.0  
MAMP Pro v5.0.5  
Apache 2.33  
PHP Version 8.0.8  
and PHP 7.4.16  
(all phpinfo below, no errors reported in the console)

When trying to export first plugin following the tutorial, I am getting nothing other than a single file in the plugin folder named .exported\_by\_pinegrow

I have deleted this and the plugin folder a few times and tried again with the same result.

Yes, but you can select the text with your mouse, then to copy press CTRL/CMD + C, and to paste press CTRL/CMD + V

No actually I tried several times, ctrl-a to select all, then ctrl-c to copy but the log would not copy.

I had the same issue myself yesterday with the first version of the plugin, managing to get as far as step 4 in the tutorial series before the plugin steadfastly refused to export.

Seeing that there was a new version of the plugin available I updated it in situ and tried the process again (initially missing the fact that I should have invoked alt at the same time to get the export log (I’d put a relatively bold note about doing that on the settings page as well by the way)).

The log I ended up with was this;

Unfortunately that really isn’t telling me a great deal, certainly nothing that I can look at and think to myself ‘ah, maybe I forgot to do x or y’ .

1.0.2 (out now) fixes the issue with exporting projects on Windows-based sites. Please update and report back. I believe most issues in this topic are related to this bug.

Thank you, will update now to plug-in v1.0.2 and report back.

Care to share why the export was failing for so many users in basically the same way? It’s just for my curiosity only as I couldn’t figure out even a hint from the log file.

Also, maybe you want to update the main DL link, as its still 1.0.1?

@billiemead I know that one of the problems was specific to Windows and LocalWP, presumably because of the different in the way path names are handled vs. macOS and Linux. Matjaz mentioned that he found a “stupid bug” so there might have been something else.

That’s one of the problems with a closed beta, I suppose… We can only test so many use cases and don’t always catch everything.

@adamslowe the danger with that statement is that it sort of suggests that all of the closed beta testers were using machines with those half eaten bits of fruit on them!

@billiemead there were two bugs:

- File name validation failed if the name contained “:”. Surprise, that’s how all Windows pathname start “c:.…”. Looks like Windows is not that popular among our beta testers 🙂
- The Not a PG project was caused by the special pinegrow signature file being created only on the first export and then cleared on all subsequent exports.

Both are very silly bugs. On the bright side, also easy to fix.

@Dom or we (me, mostly) tested on development servers rather than local environments.
