Which would also be more efficient than the JS-Solution I guess! 
But I was too lazy to do it in CSS to be honest. xD

Stick some alpine.js in there, add a few directives, and call it a day?
Sore point - I’ve only had very bad experiences with Alpine in terms of scalability

Just wanted to update this thread in case it’s helpful to others.
Pinegrow v7 has nailed the Bootstrap 5 nav menu perfectly!
Huge thanks to the PG team. Can’t wait for the WP plugin next week.
