[Bug] SCSS no longer compiles after 9.1 update

,

Hi Pinegrow team,

Since the 9.1 update, SCSS compilation is completely broken for me. All my projects using this feature are affected.

Setup

  • Template: Plain HTML
  • Workflow: I convert the default style.css to .scss via the “Stylesheet” dropdown

This was my standard workflow and worked perfectly before 9.1.

Bug — SCSS no longer compiles
As soon as any declaration is added to the .scss file, saving becomes impossible and the file simply does not compile. There is no error message — it just silently fails.

Please let me know if you need any additional details or a reproduction file.

Thanks!

Hello,

Thanks a lot for the feedback.
We found and fixed the issue in the development build.
The fix will be included in the next update.

Thanks again.

Hello,
we have been experiencing the same issue since version 9.1: unfortunately, the CSS files in our projects are no longer being generated by Sass. This problem remains unresolved even with the new version, 9.2.

Will there be an update to fix this?

Best regards

Sorry about that, a small packaging issue unfortunately kept this fix from being integrated, but we’re moving fast to get it back in as soon as possible.

Hey Emmanuel,

thanks for the update! Since it’s been about two weeks now, I wanted to check back in and see if there’s a solution yet.

If not, do you have an idea of when we can expect the next update?

Cheers Oliver

@wpmonster

The fix is ready, and the next release should be out in early June. (We’ll do our best; because of team availability and logistics, it’s hard for us to offer the update any sooner.)

For now, the easiest workaround I can think of for anyone who needs this feature in their workflow is to temporarily downgrade to the previous version. Download Pinegrow | Pinegrow Web Editor

@Emmanuel
Thanks for the update and for being open about the timeline!

Actually, I already had the same idea about downgrading as a temporary fix. It’s good to know the official fix is ready, though. I’ll stick with the previous version for now and will keep an eye out for the release in early June. :+1:
Cheers Oliver
