I’ve been really struggling today with trying to build a one page website using Tailwind and AI Assistant.
In the past the AI Assistant has told me that I can create a project brief in Google Docs and then share the URL, rather than typing it in. This time, I created a brief in Google Docs and pasted the URL into the AI Assistant and it told me that it couldn’t read this and just to type in the brief or paste the text in.
My main issue today though has not so much been the brief or the prompting, but the outputs. I created one project using the AI assistant and was able to preview it and save it to my project folder, but then when I reopened it I got a blank screen. When I open the index.html file with Text Edit I could only see a few lines of code. I created a second project and the AI Assistant wasn’t able to show me the index.html in the centre panel. The new website was shown visually in the chat but the AI Assistant couldn’t write any code to the index.html file or display it in the centre panel. It kept on saying that I should copy the code block out of the chat and into the index.html file but there was no code block shown. I’ve spent what seems like hours this afternoon trying to get a working project. I’ve been able to open and view other projects today that haven’t been created using the AI Assistant and they’ve been fine.
I’m using Claude-Sonnet-4-6 for Quick, Smart and Search models.
I must have got through lots of tokens today and don’t want to use any more for now, so any help would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Edit: I’ve found that giving the AI Assistant single prompts, such as to add new elements to a page or style existing ones, works perfectly. I think the problem, for me at least, has been prompting it to create a whole page at a time.
