Hello,
Although I have no problem creating a block theme with Pinegrow (and Pinecone👍), I can’t export a classic theme from BS5 correctly. I’ve come to reproduce step by step the videos of Adam Lowe (but with BS5) and the one of the Pinegrow team specific to Bootstrap 5 with the only result: empty template. My index.html remains empty after exporting to WP (I didn’t forget to indicate the main part and therefore the detection of headers and footers; I also didn’t forget to configure the mainloop ; I use WPLocal). My screenshot image is correctly managed on the theme, it is correctly activated, no console error but: empty template. What am I missing?
Your help is greatly awaited because I am in a comical situation: I manage to create block themes as I want but I can’t use them with Polylang (which manages block themes too badly for the moment, same for WPML despite what they say). That’s why I went back to classic themes. Funny, right? I know I’m a little weird
ADD: json file and block are activated and that’s not what I did. I don’t use ready to use bs5 blocks, so I don’t understand why Pinegrow does a block job that I don’t want. I deleted json file, double check the theme config (not block config) but nothing works: json file and block config always reappears. Is this a limitation, a bug or my bad luck?
In the export options, can you let me know if Enable site editor is checked?
(if you’ve decided to create a classic theme, this option should not be enabled)
Hello,
thank you for your reply. I was late in getting back to you because I had to do several tests. Yes, I had disabled the editor but every time I opened Pinegrow again, it was as if I had not changed anything and the editor was selected by default, so theme.json, etc.
It seems that WPLocal is causing me some problems on my Mac, with Mampro I don’t have this problem. It’s as if a cache problem was occurring with WPLocal and not Mamp, I don’t understand anything because I don’t see at all how this interferes with Pinegrow for the deactivation of the editor in a project and its unsolicited reactivation after restart.
So I deleted all the projects, the themes, changed the working directory, deleted WPLocal, restarted the Mac and then reinstalled WPlocal. I then created a project by disabling the editor in the initial configuration of the theme export and bam it works.
I made several modifications with restarting Pinegrow, WPLocal and the problem did not reappear.
It seems to me (but I am not sure) that I had started a block theme and that I modified this project to switch to a classic theme, but that does not fully explain that files that I deleted manually reappeared and that manual modifications in functions.php were deleted.
I give all these details in case someone finds themselves in the same situation. I admit that I am happy that it works correctly now, but I absolutely do not understand why it was not working.
Another big thank you for your response which allowed me to shake myself and try something to get out of it.
I take advantage of this message to congratulate you again for Pinegrow which I appreciate more and more with each use.
