Occasionally when working in PG with VSC connected, I go to VSC and get the dreaded compare/overwrite alert at the right bottom of my monitor.
I usually just click overwrite and hope for the best.
Any tips on avoiding compare/overwrite?
I use a different text editor so I haven’t experienced your issue, but I have some ideas about it. If your file is open in both places, and the last change you made was in PG, that means VSC no longer has the latest version of the file. So I imagine VSC is asking if you want to update the loaded file data to match the changes you made in PG. In that case, I would always say yes, overwrite. I hope this helps a bit.
I use the VSC, PG extension, so both are connected.
There is a compare check mark that allows me to accept one change at a time. So far I just keep clicking. Obviously more learning required.
Your thoughts do help @nebula
Well, it was worth a try. More learning is required for me too!
Is there a way I can get notified of your posts on the PG forum? I’d like to stay in contact.
