Thanks for the report. I can confirm it is happening for me as well - also in Pinegrow Live. We will look into fixing it.

@RobM And there seems to be a bug: I can’t “define a component” in a new page, either I’m too stupid, or the documentation is not very clear, or bug

If you click on the odd text it should still add the correct ‘data-pgc-define’ attribute. It works for me, let me know if it also works for you.
There is also a labelling bug with the third item down in the ‘Editable Areas’ section. That one adds the ‘data-pgc-optional’ attribute.
These errors have been fixed and will be pushed out in the next release.
