$400 a MONTH!?! That is quite expensive. Hostgator’s most expensive VPS is only $150 a month if paid monthly, but only $50 a year if you do a 3 year plan. Their low-end VPS is only $30 a month. Also includes backup and firewall. I think you should shop around.
None of the sites on my shared server use much bandwidth or have much traffic. For my e-commerce clients, I use Volusion.
Just curious why you don’t do e-commerce there. Security concerns?
Ever look at Linode. Their managed service is even cheap. https://www.linode.com/managed
My business partner built his first e-commerce site on the Volusion platform many years ago, and he was happy with it, so we’ve stuck with it. Also, e-commerce on a shared server is not practical or wise for many reasons. We only have a few e-commerce clients. I briefly looked at Woo Commerce (Wordpress) but it seems you have to spend some bucks to get a decent theme, and I’m not familiar with customizing the Wordpress platform. My Pinegrow version is non-Wordpress.
