Great minds…
Welcome, i think you can find a home here. Never used DW, but PG is great for the hard work of making a website look the way you want it to.
Like any tool, it has some limitations, but they are few and solvable so far in my experience.
A visual Tool with a spell checker, so I can check my visuals…
Eh??
then!
Id like a tractor with a periscope so I can plant my cabbages underwater please.
seems about as intuitive a pairing
I’ve always wanted one of these…
I know!
Just so convenient…I can even pop into the duty free shop at the harbour for some prawns, as I drive out of the sea wearing My Panda costume.
…mmm…I might have just come across a great big gap in the market here @randyrie, dont tell anyone else on the internet… Promise? you can have 5%
Hopefully you’re not sober when you do this? I’ll take you up on the 5%, too.
I’m rarely sober when I ever do anything so creative…mmmm, maybe I should try web design in such a condition.
it might be fun…
You’re on your own on this one!
Oh dont worry, @Pervasive, Your safe from any drunkern ramblings as I hardly if ever drink, and
…web Design…fun… FUN?
Runs screaming into the night…
are you trolling me schpengle?
i’m flattered.
…alas, tis you who appear to be doing the creepy stalker thing, Mr @droidgoo
… you appear to be scribbling in the wrong box/thread again… are you after my panda costume?
It wont fit you, it only has ONE eye hole.
This will cause you to walk into doors, under cars and miss your busses.
You really shouldn’t be. I’m fairly certain that it’s post #99 that is being referred to.
Of course, we don’t want you to feel neglected. Now where is that PG Seedling ? She must be around here somewhere.
Have you ever noticed that everything on this site is kinda’ family oriented… you know, safe for kids and all that.
What I wanted to say is that everything is PG.
(ok, I’ll keep my day job… don’t worry!)
Jeesh - let’s hope so.
Well, the family is still growing I think . It’s taking a little bit of time to get used to a birth taking longer than 9 months.
I think there’s plenty of food to eat. It’s when kids become teenagers and hit those growth spurts that food can become a problem.
How often do you think we should check in on her who isn’t but is yet to come? Ahhh… PGS, that’s almost like GPS that I might be lost without should I travel much too far from home.
Surreal… May I suggest some Aardvarks?
Aardvark
The aardvark is a medium-sized, burrowing, nocturnal mammal native to Africa. It is the only living species of the order Tubulidentata, although other prehistoric species and genera of Tubulidentata are known.
Does that mean that the PG family is getting a pet, too?
Well its been over 5 years since the last post in this thread, so for anyone following along …
@matjaz Whats new from 5 years ago ? :–)
A lot has happened over these 5 years that brought this original vision to life, although in a different package.
First of all, Tailwind CSS is conceptually very similar to what our vision for simplified CSS styling was. Instead of coming up with something similar we integrated Tailwind CSS deeply into our existing app, Pinegrow Web Editor.
The last version 8.0 even introduced Tailwind CSS based general purpose CSS styling, with global Style manager: Pinegrow Web Editor 8 - June 26, 2024 | Pinegrow Web Editor
Style manager can rename, remove and otherwise manage classes across the whole project:
On top of that we have visual CSS grid editor, integrated component libraries such as Flowbite, Tailwind UI and more.
And we are also leveraging all the AI advances:
On the distribution side, we brought these features not just to desktop, but also to browser with Pinegrow Online and self hosted WordPress plugin.
So, with all of that, we got reasonably close to the original vision of the Pine Seedling.
Yes I’m aware.
Ok, so you’ve arrived at your destination of thought from your Youtube comment all those years ago for a “simpler way”, with Tailwind being the answer to your dreams.
But …
I’m guessing most designer types will still feel your above statement even with Pinegrow 8 at its current status (features, workflow, UI / UX, complication). I’m guessing most designers both pure or hybrid are not turning to Pinegrow in droves from other more design centric offerings. Because in addition to the ease of execution of their ideas they require much more than a basic static Tailwind page concerning site features for delivery.
But if you’re saying the vision has arrived with Pinegrow 8, then I guess it must just be down to marketing, tutorials, documentation, or something else concerning winning over more of the designer types towards Pinegrow. Since it’s now as easy as you once envisioned. Though so far I’m not seeing a flood of designers engaging here at the forum or excited talking about what’s now possible with PInegrow across the web? Sure as developers we can applaud the advances, though not much fanfare from these types is out there either.
Concerning Tailwind, I think maybe RapidWeaver Elements highjacked your original dream and are bringing it too fruition.
They seem to be developing a pure and easy visual way of working with Tailwind, though seemingly just for Mac, which is probably fine concerning most designer types.
PS: It appears Pinegrow Theme Converter has again fallen behind, though 7 months is not as bad as the previous record of 3 years.
Sorry man but why you gotta be so rude and mad? No need to act all shady. You can say whatever you want about the product, but without trying to make others look like fools. Pretty sure the Pinegrow devs know where they’re slacking, but that’s a whole other story.
