Welcome to Pinegrow! Your background from the Fireworks image map days gives you a great foundation for understanding how web design tools have evolved.
While Pinegrow doesn’t currently offer direct Shopify theme integration, many developers have established effective workflows combining these tools. Here’s what typically works well:
Use Pinegrow for HTML/CSS component design and visual editing
Export clean code from Pinegrow for your layouts and components
Integrate these components into your Shopify theme structure
Leverage Shopify’s theme development tools for the platform-specific elements
For maintaining a live site, consider:
Setting up a development store for testing
Using Shopify’s version control features
Creating a component library in Pinegrow that matches your Shopify theme structure
Your approach of sharing what works for you once you’ve figured it out is exactly the collaborative spirit that makes development communities thrive. Many developers with similar workflows would certainly benefit from your insights.
Looking forward to hearing about the workflow you develop with these tools!
Hey @Blep@PeteSharp, this is what happens when you dive into unanswered topics without checking the date first
I know you guys are loyal fans of Pinegrow, so I’m glad it makes you smile. But mainly, I thought it was important to answer this question that might have been asked multiple times and could be causing some confusion!
Note: as for the rest, our stats for responding to tech support (through our support email) are excellent, so I highly recommend reaching out there :))
same as @PeteSharp
I love Pinegrow and recommend it every time I’m asked what tool I use. I really enjoy it and combined with Windsurf (with the newly arrived MCPs) it’s a combo-killer
