Upgrading Pinegrow on Fedora Linux

Dear all,

At the moment I’m running Pinegrow at a MacBook Pro M2. Upgrading means overwriting the current App with the one from the upgrade DMG file. No problem so far. Works like a breeze.

Now I also have Pinegrow on a laptop running Fedora Linux. However from the repository I received an old version of Pinegrow. When I download the upgrade file for Linux from the Pinegrow website it appears to be a Zip file. Unpacking this file produces a main folder with files and subfolders. Anyone has an idea how to proceed from here? I would rather not “experiment” to much with this.

Thank you in advance.

Theo

Thank you for your reply James,

But this sadly does not work: The file in the folder is called Pinegrow.desktop. Running the file as an executable (right mouse button) flashes the Terminal without any results.

The readme.text tells me how to get to a webpage with the explaination how to install in Ubuntu. You have to edit this file to add the path to the install folder, put it on the desktop and run it. But this also flashes the Terminal without any results.

So my question still is: can some one please tell me how to proceed from here?
Second (new) question: can anybody give me a simple answer to the question: “Where do apps like Pinegrow recide in Fedora?”. (yes I’m a newbe  )
