Hello,

Why, there is an “E” icon at the bottom right of the Pinegrow software icon (under macOS)

It’s just a matter of taste … but personally I find it very ugly!
It’s the only icon in my macOS that has this style!?!
I have the impression each time that it is a pastille which indicates to have updates to carry out

E for Editor is my guess

We have more than one app in the Pinegrow line-up (available for macOS but also Windows and Linux) and while the pinecone icon is pretty much the same:
